Rocky Creek Goes To California!! In April we went to “The Californios”. Just to experience the horsemanship, the dedication, the admiration of the horse, and the equipment was a dream come true. Until you have studied these methods, you can’t believe the quality of training that has gone into animals. It is truly a life’s’ work of which we are proud to be part of.

April, 2009
In March and April we get bald eagles passing through our place. The birds who are younger don't get the white feathers until they mature. This pic has a couple of youngsters watching over our cows and calves.

September 2008
September is always a busy time at Rocky Creek. The dogs come along as we rode to each grazing pasture to assess the weight of the animals. Our 2008 cattle are beginning to mature and it's time to consider weaning them. The Canadian dollar was trading down again, and that usually gives a spike in the Alberta cattle markets. We decided to sell with that trend and topped the prices at the Calgary Stockyards. Everyone gave us congradulations and recognized how well presented our cattle were. Thanks!!
This month will include another Ranch Rodeo for Darcy and "Twister" to compete in. This one was held at Soderglen Farms. Many men's, women's and mixed teams were there. So many people that it will be hard to see them all in the picture they took of the grand entry. Darcy came home with a prize so that topped off a great day.

Next month -- Are the mares' bred or not?? Find out when the vet comes to do the health check on the horses!!
